Winds of Destiny is looking for an experienced and passionate individual with strong leadership and managerial skills to plan and execute the vision and programs within this dynamic private operating foundation.

Winds of Destiny, founded in 2020, is a financially stable 501c3 that seeks to honor, love and empower each woman as they transition from a life of survival to a life of purpose and destiny.  Our vision and mission is to share the love of Christ and leave a legacy that will transform lives for many generations as we seek to rebuild and restore wholeness (spirit, soul, body) for each woman we partner with. 

The Executive Director is responsible for the day-to-day operations within the foundation and for developing and executing our future strategies.  The Executive Director must embody our core values:  value every woman, model excellence, and operate with integrity.  The Executive Director will preserve and present the foundation’s mission, vision and values working closely with the president and vice president.  

DUTIES:

  1. Keep the President and Vice President informed of the condition of the foundation and all issues influencing its success and reputation within the community.
  2. Partner with the board of Directors to carry out the mission while recommending grants and projects for board approval.
  3. Continual partnership with the board in executing the current and future plans of the foundation.
  4. Plan, direct, implement, and evaluate the foundation’s day-to-day operations and ensure that all operations are carried out in accordance with applicable bylaws and IRS laws governing private foundations.
    1. This includes receiving, sorting, approving and/or denying daily applications received for assistance.
  5. Develop the budget and oversee the prudent financial management of the organization’s funds, working with our Treasurer to ensure transparency and accountability.
  6. Motivate and recruit a staff of volunteers and provide clear performance objectives and regular feedback.
  7. Represent the foundation’s core values confidently while communicating clearly and consistently sharing the foundation’s mission goals and objectives as the foundation programs and initiatives grow.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  1. Executive Director is responsible to the President, Founder for the administrative oversight, interpretation, and implementation of the functions, responsibilities, authority, and relationships of the Office of Executive Director
    1. The Executive Director is responsible to the Vice President for these duties when the President is unavailable.
  2. Executive Director is responsible to the Board for the fulfillment of the foundation’s vision, mission and values.
  3. Executive Director is responsible to the Treasurer for all finances and monthly reporting updates.
  4. Executive Director partners with the foundation’s board with voice, but without vote.
  5. Executive Director maintains frequent communications and good working relationships with the President and Vice President of the board.
  6. Executive Director maintains frequent communications and good working relationships with the foundation’s recipients, grantees and other non-profits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will ideally possess the following qualifications or demonstrate equivalent experience.

  • A desire to love and honor women as they transition from a life of trauma to wholeness.
  • Personal and professional ethics beyond reproach.
  • Polished verbal communication skills, including interpersonal, presentation, writing, and public speaking skills. Ability to communicate clearly to professional peers as well as to the broken.
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of 5 years of nonprofit experience is preferred. Nonprofit experience required. 
  • General knowledge in restoration ministry is helpful
  • Adept at thinking creatively and bringing new ideas and a fresh perspective to the foundation’s board.
  • Knowledge of finance, marketing, and small business operations is helpful.
  • Strong volunteer management and leadership skills.
  • Currently reside or be willing to relocate to the greater Cleveland/Akron area.
  • Highly energized to create and engage with the potential financial supporters of our foundation through fundraising events.
  1. SALARY RANGE: $60,000-$70,000
