Worship Ministry Director

Salary: This position is salaried.
Expected Hours: 8-10 hours/week.
Work Location: In person. Mountville Mennonite Church, 205 Froelich Ave. Mountville, PA 17554
Overall Function: This individual will be responsible for coordinating, planning and providing leadership of the music ministry for Sunday morning worship services. This would also include recruiting, training, organizing, and overseeing volunteers who serve on the Sunday morning worship team.
We are looking for the following four leadership traits.
1. A sense of clarity in their call.
2. Intentional communication with leadership and church community.
3. Creative with resources, ideas, growth, and vision.
4. Models consistently throughout their ministry tasks, as well as with our church’s vision and values.
We are looking to identify these five qualities of leadership in this individual.
1. Character: Evidence of personal, spiritual, missional, and emotional life and health.
2. Chemistry: Exhibits healthy relationships with other leadership.
3. Capacity: A mature individual who is invested in the tasks at hand but also allows leadership to speak into their life and work.
4. Calling: Clearly called to this work, at this time.
5. Competency: Confident in their ability, but also continually pursuing and developing new skills.
This individual will demonstrate:
1. Commitment to following Jesus.
2. Love for the body of Christ.
3. Accept the Scriptures as the standard for Christian faith and life.
4. Growth towards our Anabaptist convictions and understanding.
5. Ability to work within a team ministry context.
6. Open to the exercise of all biblical gifts of the Spirit.

8. Life of spiritual convictions and disciplines.
Worship Ministry Director responsibilities will include:
Coordinating, planning and providing leadership of the music ministry for Sunday worship services.
They will coordinate a weekly order of service with the lead pastor. They will select appropriate songs from our music ministry’s song list. They will use Planning Center Online to communicate in advance the order of service to the members of the worship team and teach team. They will lead the worship team (as scheduled) in a rehearsal prior to the Sunday service with the aim of ensuring a cohesive worship experience. They will coordinate with sound and projection teams during rehearsals. They will lead the congregation in worship and direct the flow and elements of the Sunday worship service.
Recruiting, training, organizing, and overseeing volunteers who serve on the Sunday morning worship team.
They will intentionally spend time getting to know our church community, being out among the people, and sharing a compelling vision for the Sunday morning worship ministry. They will equip team members by educating them on the biblical basis for corporate worship and mentoring them so that they grow and develop musical techniques. They will demonstrate patience, flexibility, and call to commitment the volunteers that serve in the music ministry. They will foster a healthy worship culture where volunteers are recognized, welcomed, accepted, heard, and cared for.
Helping to shape and form a healthy culture of corporate worship
In cooperation with the Lead Pastor, create an atmosphere in corporate worship in which people encounter God by exalting God through songs that declare the truth of who God is regardless of our life circumstances. In addition, cultivate a desire within the church community to be attentive to the Holy Spirit so that God works through our worship to touch our lives and the lives of others.
Qualifications and Expectations
Proven experience in worship leading.
Proficiency in playing guitar or keys.
Familiarity or ability to learn PCO and ProPresenter.
Strong leadership skills to guide and inspire team members.
Ability to mentor and develop musicians and vocalists.
Excellent communication skills to convey the message of worship effectively.
Develop and oversee a budget for Sunday worship services.
Consistent participation in Sunday worship services.
Obtain clearances required by state and federal regulations.
